Gianfranco De Rosa is the sole administrator and legal representative of Europeanfilmcommunication s.r.l., company founded by him in the year 2000, based in Cinecittà Studios . Born in Naples in 1969, he spent his teenage years in the native city. After receiving his high school diploma and completing his military service, he moved to Rome. Now twenty years old, he has a great wish: to work in the film industry. Because of his great passion for the industry, he was able to come in contact with numerous representatives of the most important European filmmaking companies. In 1993 he began his career working with the Cecchi Gori Group for various films directed by Carlo Verdone: Perdiamoci di Vista, Sono Pazzo di Iris Blond, C’era un Cinese in Coma; he works alongside Daniele Luchetti for the production of I Piccoli Maestri. He continues on to work with Dino De Laurentiis , working on several productions for major American production

companies: in 1994 he travels to Morocco to work on the tv series “The Bible”, then on to Malta for U-571 and Submerged. He then spends some time in Brighton, England, and four months in Los Angeles in 1997 for a master course in the English language to better confirm his position in the film industry.

He returns to Italy for the filming of Hannibal, directed by Ridley Scott; the large production was shot almost entirely in Italy, giving him a very important position in the organization of the project. In 1999 he is producer and director of a short film entitled Mehari; the film tells the story of the murder of a reporter for the newspaper “Il Mattino”, Giancarlo Siani: the film gains much success with a Special Mention at the Silver Ribbon Awards 2001 and great recognition from the press at the International Cinema Sorrento 2000 awards. This success brings De Rosa to acquire all rights to the film, which has today become a film directed by Marco Risi, with a screenplay by Andrea Purgatori and Jim Carrington, in collaboration with the president of API Angelo Barbagallo, and co-produced by Rai Cinema spa.The film is played at the cinemas halls in January 2009.

De Rosa also produces the promo “The Infinite Forest”, the dramatic tale of the missing child Angela Celentano, winner of the Oscarino for best director at the Festival of Lovere and the Comune di Lovere Award. In 2003 he collaborates with BBC Television for the production of “Leonardo Da Vinci” and The Inspector Lynley Mysteries. The same year he is executive producer for Warner Brothers in the production of Exorcist: The Beginning, shot in Cinecittà Studios and Morocco.

In 2005 he is executive producer for Granada Media’s (England) “Ghostboat”, and associate producer in the film Deceitful is the Heart More than Anything (Ingannevole E’ il Cuore Più di Ogni Cosa), directed by Asia Argento, and based on the novel by J.T. Leroy. The following year he discovers the talent of young director Luis Prieto, and gives him his first Italian assignment in a television commercial for Radio Dimensione Suono. De Rosa’s hunch for talent scouting paid off, as young Prieto was commissioned by Cattleya to direct the blockbuster Italian hit Ho Voglia di Te.

During these times De Rosa has also realized several commercials for clients such as Crodino, Campari, L’Oréal, Tim, Bmw, MSC Cruises, Pepsi, RDS – Radio, Carpisa, Fresh-Up Toothpaste, Santa Croce Water, Campari, Qui Gioco,; these are some of the large companies and corporations that have turned to EFC for the production of their high quality television commercials.
